It seems it's a week for turkey content

My morning meeting with my senior technology leadership team was interrupted by a knock on the door.

“Um… Do you own two turkeys?”

Our feathered explorers had wandered into the neighborhood across the street and down the road.

Once they lose sight of the house or barn, these two knuckleheads don’t seem to have any clue how to find their way back home. They spotted me with an expression of turkey-relief and gladly let me walk them back.

Thankfully, we have lovely neighbors, who thought it was all highly amusing to see me herding these two bright sparks back to the farm. I’m sure we’ll be the source of (more) stories around the dinner table this evening.

Wood rats

Red squirrels are a plague.

They stash walnuts in the walls of the house, and yell at me for walking across the lawn. They run laps around their fat cousins, the grey squirrels. They mock the dog from just above her height, and it took us years to figure out where they were getting into the basement, to keep them from turning it into their winter vacation home.

But they are adorable little rats, aren’t they?

When faced with a choice to cape, or not to cape: always choose cape

After the experience at SXSW of renting these scooters, I had been aching to buy one. I live about 6 or 7 miles from the office (depending on my route), which is just far enough to work up a sweat on a bike. And then need a shower. And clothes to change into. And a whole series of logistical issues I could never quite figure out.

Scooters don’t have this problem.

My Bride was concerned about my visibility for the cars on the road.

“Don’t worry. I have an idea.”
